BRSD wins provincial Innovation and Excellence award
Posted on:School Board Trustees from across Alberta gathered at the annual Fall General Meeting of the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) on November 20 to 22.
The conference got off to a great start on Sunday evening, as BRSD received an Innovation and Excellence Award from the ASBA, in recognition of the division’s Equity in Action Program.
BRSD is very proud of the work being done by its schools and division, guided by Equity Coordinator Eric Jensen.
In its first year, the project has helped to build the knowledge and skill of staff in how to accurately address Canadian history and Indigenous issues; offered opportunities to share Indigenous culture and history directly with students and parents; and even supported the work of other school divisions to develop similar projects of their own.
