Occupational Health and Safety
Safety is important to Battle River School Division, and we are committed to the health and safety of all students, staff, visitors, contractors, and volunteers. Work at the division should not be done unless it is done safely. The Division focuses on proper planning, precautions and training so we can reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents, injuries and illnesses. The Division strives to create a workplace that follows best practice and meets legislated guidelines. We do this through the application of our formal safety program outlined in the BRSD Health and Safety Manual. This manual guides staff in specific areas of health and safety, including hazard assessments, safety standards and rules, commitment to safety, emergency preparedness, inspections, training, incident reporting, and other areas. The goal of occupational health and safety is to help foster a positive and injury-free working environment. We believe a safe work site is everyone’s responsibility.
