BRSD Board Approves Audited Financial Statements
Battle River School Division (BRSD) Board of Trustees has approved its Audited Financial Statements (AFS) for the year ending August 2024.
The audit, conducted by an independent team from MNP LLP, presented findings, options, and a management letter that stated: “We have not identified any significant matters during our audit procedures to be communicated to the Board of Trustees.”
BRSD’s operating budget for 2024-25 is $83 million. The division oversees 19 schools across 13 communities, as well as two outreach schools and 10 colony schools. BRSD has enrolled 5,839 students for this school year. Each day, our buses cover nearly 10,000 kilometres to transport more than 3,600 students, supported by a transportation budget of $6.4 million and 84 bus routes.
Additional highlights include an enrolment increase of 27 students in 2024-25. BRSD is a major employer in the region with a workforce of 981 employees, including 360 teachers, 163 substitute teachers, and 336 support staff, alongside 122 bus drivers.
